Letter to my readers : Goin' off the Grid

Just FYI....I've decided to delete the previous postings of my story and to continue from it's current point in private. Just seems like the right thing to do. I feel like I've grown more as a writer than I ever thought possible over the last several months and I'd like to thank anyone who has taken the time to read.

I needed this blog. I needed it to make me believe I was capable of creating something that I could be proud of. I needed it to know that "finishing" is attainable. And more than anything, I needed help from my fellow bloggers to guide me to the way that I would like to write.

I realize as the story progressed a few of my readers found it to be more than they'd care to know and I understand that. It's rough. It sickens me to write it at times but I feel like I must tell it with no inner critic shouting "Stop! It's too much!". This is the primary reason that has led me to the decision to go rogue from here on out. To be honest, I feel like if I continue to put it on Blogger I'm going to hold back and what's the fuckin' point then?

Thank you all for sticking with me as long as you have and HOPEFULLY it will be in print someday for you to finish if you'd like. :)

Heidi

  1. As I've said: you have crossed no lines that distress me. I definitely feel for you, yes. It's vivid. And it's very personal. But I'm used to fiction, and I don't know you personally. When I read here, I just take a step back and view the material as... well, material. Something to read, and consider, and look at in a critical light.

So far as I'm concerned, you're doing fine. It's more than readable. The only think lacking is a narrative drive, an 'arc' that creates a story from what is essentially bio material. That's a hell of a trick, by the way, and I think it's more important to get the material down in bulk form than it is to worry about the story arc right now.

    Keep it up.

  2. Hey what ever you need to do to get this through and complete the story.

I'll still be here and if you could just drop an occasion line to say how the writing is going rather than the wrtiting itself I'd be interested to hear.

  4. Everything you write doesn't have to be a catharsis. However, it somehow seems everything you write is one in some way, however small. The point is, keep blogging, about whatever moves your boat. We'll still be around to enjoy and comment.

  5. Okay, I definitely get what you're sayin' Mr. Charleston and am definitely going to fix the way it comes across when I re-write. I KNOW exactly what you're saying and I hate it.

I think what I'm going to do is continue it on in another blog by invitation only and keep this one for silly, monkey time.

I had not planned on quitting blogging by the way, just about the story. Thanks for all of your support guys!!!
